[Sept 15] ✩UTAMA's First 2017-2018 General Meeting!!✩

It's finally that time of year again!! School is starting, and that means so is UTAMA, so get ready for our first GM of the 2017-2018 year!!!! Join us on Friday, September 15 in OISE 5250 for a fun-filled night of games, friends, and food!! Ｏ(≧▽≦)Ｏ

Let's get all the business out of the way first -- to get into UTAMA events over the course of the school year, you'll need a membership.

A half-year membership will run you $7 and get you a fall membership card
A full-year membership will run you $10 and get you both semesters' membership cards AND a cute keychain

You can purchase your membership during office hours to skip the line, or at the GM itself. Office hours are posted on the home page of this website and our office is located in 21 Sussex Ave., room 532! Membership benefits include access to all UTAMA events (GMs, outings, screenings, etc.) as well as perks like a discounted Anime North 2018 pass!! ╭(๑ ॔ㅂ ਂ ॓)و ̑̑

Note that the GM officially starts at 6, but as the line is sure to be long, we'll be opening the doors at 5:30 so make sure to get there early!!! (ﾉ*ФωФ)ﾉ

Now, some of you who've been a part of UTAMA for a while might be wondering why we're having our GM so early this month. We need to get the word out that UTAMA is looking for new executive members!! The open positions are as follows:

President
Vice President Internal
Vice President External
Secretary
Technical Coordinator

The election will be held on Friday, September 29. Further information on the election is available on the Facebook event page. We'll be repeating everything at the GM and making a separate post in the Facebook group shortly after the GM, so don't worry too much if you plan on running!!!

I hope everyone's been having a fantastic summer! I also hope that you'll join Mackenzie in taking in the good weather and exploring all the cute stationary shops in Koreatown and surrounding area~ (o^▽^o)

We'll be making stops at popular shops like Hanji and Mr. Pen as well as some little known ones! There might be some bonus manga shopping at BMV and Labyrinth too. ☆⌒(^ω~)

[April 29] UTAMA STUDIO εїз Gallery-Café Tour!

Exam season is finally over! What better way to celebrate than with an outing hosted by our very own UTAMA Studio?

Join Mackenzie at 12PM on April 29th outside of the AGO near Henry Moore's Two Large Forms sculpture at noon for a mini-tour of the gallery-cafés along Dundas! We will be popping into Bau-Xi Gallery, Art Square, along with a couple of other surprise spots. Updates will be posted on the Facebook event page, which you can find in the UTAMA Studio Facebook group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/UTAMAstudio/), on the day of, so be sure to keep up if you'll be late!

This is a casual meet up and great for people who might be a bit shy about making art themselves! Let the beautiful art we will see inspire you -- or just have fun and de-stress now that exams are over. Post on the Facebook event page or message Mackenzie if you have any questions. ☆UTAMA's April Election & General Meeting!!☆

The time is here, dear friends -- the 2016-2017 year is coming to a close, and that means it's time to vote on a new exec team for 2017-2018. Come out to OISE 4414 on Thursday, April 13 at 6PM for our election and general meeting! (ﾉ･ｪ･)ﾉ

If you plan to run, be sure to submit your application to utamaelection2017@gmail.com by midnight on Wednesday, April 12. Details can be found in the pinned post in the UTAMA group and candidates will be announced on this event page after midnight on Wednesday, April 12. The following positions are up for grabs:

President
Vice President Internal
Vice President External
Treasurer
Secretary
Events Coordinator
Communications Coordinator
Technical Coordinator

Candidates will be giving speeches (2 mins. for presidential candidates, 1 min. for everyone else) prior to voting. Additionally, you can only run for ONE position, so make sure you choose carefully! For any questions regarding the election process or what these roles entail, or if you are unable to make it out to the GM and plan to run (we understand exam season is busy!), please contact Joey or Han ASAP. ₍₍ (ง ˙ω˙)ว ⁾⁾

Also happening at this GM will be our raffle for an amazing Rem Nendoroid! ฅ(*°ω°*ฅ) You'll be able to purchase raffle tickets at the GM, so if you haven't done so yet, be sure to get on that because tickets are going fast!!! Remember:

1 ticket = $1
6 tickets = $5
15 tickets = $10

Aside from all this, we'll still be hosting games and serving refreshments, so be sure to come out to one of our last events of the school year for a fun time. See you there!!!!!!! (=ↀωↀ=)✧

UTAMA's March School Festival General Meeting!

It's been a little while, UTAMA -- take a break from your assignments and come out to our school festival-themed GM on Friday, March 31 in OISE 4414!! ╭( ･ㅂ･)و

This very special GM will feature some extra fun and unique games, beautiful decorations made by our very own UTAMA Studio, and, of course, refreshments! ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ Additionally, we have a couple of SUPER EXCITING EXTREMELY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS being made at the GM that you 100% will not want to miss!!!!! ୧(☉□☉)୨
