Video Game Night - Pokémon

Description: For the first time in UTAMA history, we will be hosting a video game night! And why not start off with an old favourite - Pokémon! Battle, trade, share friend codes and Friend Safaris, it's all up to you!

NOTE: To make the most of this event, your best bet is probably bringing your 3DS along with a copy of X or Y, but if you don't have either, don't fret! Feel free to bring older generations and give into nostalgia (head over to the facebook event page and let other members know ahead of time which games you will bring so that everyone is prepared)!

Future Video Game Nights will be based on the success of this event, so make sure you attend and give us your feedback!

A membership is required to attend this event and can be purchased at the door for $2 (for one meeting) or $5 (for the rest of the semester). We strongly recommend that you purchase your membership in advance during office hours so we can save time during the meeting.

NOTE: For admittance to this meeting, we will also be accepting donations of non-perishable goods for a local food bank instead of the $2 entrance fee. If you already have a membership, we would still appreciate a small donation. Food items such as pasta, canned vegetables, etc. and toiletries such as shampoo, soap, or toothpaste are preferred.

Inter-Club Social - UTAMA + YAMA + FOLD

Date: Friday, January 24th, 2014
Time: 1pm - 8pm
Location: OISE 5170, 5160 (1-3pm), 5180 (4-7pm)

Description: This is going to be a free collaboration event between UTAMA, YAMA, and FOLD! Get ready to meet new peeps!
We will have two rooms booked at OISE, with different activities within.

ROOM 1:
- an origami station run by the members of FOLD where you will be able to learn some simple designs!
- an art station where you will be able to draw and share your work with other artists (materials as well as instructional books will be provided!)

ROOM 2:
- a board game section with options such as Cards Against Humanity, Munchkin, as well as decks of playing cards (please feel free to bring your own games, including handheld gaming systems!)
- at 4:30, we will be showing the live action Death Note movie!

Food: Snacks and drinks (such as cookies, chips, candy, soda, juice, and hot chocolate) will be provided throughout the event. Additionally, we will order pizza to be delivered at around 4:15, which will be available for 75c a slice, or $1.25 for two slices.

Come out and enjoy this awesome free event!

Evangelion Movie Outing (UPDATE - PLEASE READ)

So, the Evangelion movie has gotten enough interest that we will be going to BOTH showtimes, BUT YOU WILL BE PAYING FOR YOUR OWN TICKETS. We will be going to BOTH Saturday, January 11th @ 12:55pm AND January 16th @ 7:30pm.

Just a few notifications:
1. THIS MOVIE IS DUBBED
2. The movie will be at Yonge and Dundas this time, not Queensway.
3. Sandra will be hosting the event on the 11th at 12:55pm; Meghan will be hosting the 16th at 7:30pm.
4. We will ask that you buy your own tickets for the show, please let us know which day you will be attending.

Evangelion 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo - Movie Outing

Hope everyone had a very happy holidays and plenty of rest for the upcoming semester! What better to kick off our new year with another movie outing! The new Evangelion movie 3.0: "You Can't Redo" will be airing at the Yonge and Dundas Cinema On Saturday, January 11th and Thursday, January 16th 2014. If you are interested, please follow this link the indicate which showtime is the best for you. We will let you all know in advance if a showtime has run out of tickets and if we need to move to another time.
NOTE: We will only do this outing if we get more than 10 people to come to the event.

ANIME NORTH GROUP REGISTRATION

ATTENTION FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN GROUP PRE-REGISTRATION FOR ANIME NORTH:

The group pre-reg is $45 ($5 less than the typical weekend admission) per person if we get 15+ people in the group (which we have not had issues in getting in the past). 

This is limited to UTAMA MEMBERS ONLY.
If you would like to group register, here is what I need from you:
1. The $45 in cash - no online payments or cheques.
2. An email address in which the staff from Anime North will forward you a copy of the ticket (I will also receive a mass copy as well, but for your convenience, please watch your emails)
3. Full, legal name in which the staff will confirm when you arrive at the con, NO NICKNAMES as they will be checking I.D.

You must have the cash on hand with you when you ask to pre-register, only then will I add you to the list.

In order to receive the $5 discount, the payment must be received by the staff by March 14th. So in order to allow as much time as possible, we will not accept any more payments after Friday, March 3rd, 2014.
